Fionnuala Ní Áinle

fionnuala-ni-ainleDr Ní Áinle received her medical degree from the University of Dublin, Trinity College, in 2000. She underwent specialist training in haematology and subsequently haemostasis, thrombosis and obstetric haematology.

She is dedicated to the provision of world class care to patients with bleeding and clotting disorders and to women whose pregnancy is complicated by blood disorders. Dr Ní Áinle’s research interest explores the role of blood coagulation and inflammation in the aetiology and therapy of clinical disorders.

She completed her PhD in the Haemostasis Research Group, Trinity College Dublin, supported by a prestigious fellowship awarded by Molecular Medicine Ireland. Dr Ní Áinle’s work has received numerous national and international accolades. She has established an international academic track record, publishing in the top journals of her field. She has presented research breakthroughs at the American Society of Hematology (ASH) and her work was selected for a Young Investigator Award by the International Society of Haemostasis and Thrombosis (ISTH).

Dr Ní Áinle was appointed to the post of Consultant Haematologist in the Mater Misericordiae Hospital, Dublin and Rotunda Hospital, Dublin in 2012. Since her appointment she has developed a collaborative clinical and translational research programme focussing upon coagulation and inflammation in disorders of pregnancy.

Dr David CorcoranPaediatrician
Dr David Corcoran is a paediatrician with a special interest in the newborn infant. He is a graduate of University College Dublin. He completed his higher speciality training in Belfast as a general paediatrician before moving to Vancouver, Canada for three years to specialise in newborn and preterm infants. He obtained his doctorate through the Queen’s University, Belfast in 1997.

He has been a consultant in the Rotunda since 1999. He is particularly interested in respiratory and heart problems in premature infants and also specialises in the care of infants and toddlers. He has some practical experience in the area of paediatrics as he
is married with five children

Dr Carole Barry-Kinsella

Dr Carol Barry-Kinsella qualified from Trinity College, Dublin in 1984. She trained in general obstetrics and gynaecology while working in the Rotunda Hospital, St James’Hospital, the Coombe Hospital and the Mater Hospital.

She became clinical lecturer in TCD in 1988 and subsequently lectured in RCSI from 1989 – 1993. She continued to pursue her interest in infertility and endometriosis by travelling to Belfast to undertake training in advanced obstetric ultrasound.

In 1998, she established the Prenatal Diagnosis Clinic, a service which has continued to expand and develop over the years. She currently has 3 sessions per week in this clinic. She continues to teach students and is an honorary lecturer in RCSI.

Dr Barry-Kinsella is a consultant in the Rotunda Hospital and in the James Connolly Memorial Hospital, Blanchardstown, Dublin 15.

Dr Adrienne Foran

Dr Adrienne ForanPaediatrician
Dr Adrienne Foran graduated from Trinity College in 1996. She trained in the National Maternity Hospital where she completed her post doctoral thesis (MD) in brainwave tracing in babies at risk of brain injury.

Dr. Foran tutored in the R.C.S.I. Temple Street before completing her specialist registrar training in the Imperial College, Hammersmith, London where she worked for a year as a consultant before she took a post in the Rotunda Hospital as a Consultant Paediatrician in September 2007.

Special areas of interest are newborn intensive care brain monitoring, MRI imaging and care of extremely preterm babies.

Dr Foran is married with 3 children
