Eve Gaughan is a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist working in the Rotunda Hospital and the James Connolly Memorial Hospital in Blanchardstown.

After graduating from the Royal College of Surgeons in 2002, Eve went on to pursue her higher specialist training in general obstetrics and gynaecology at the three Dublin Maternity Hospitals, Cork University Maternity Hospital and the Mater Hospital. She was Assistant Master in the National Maternity Hospital in 2011-2012 and in the Coombe Hospital in 2012-2013.

She has undertaken a fellowship in gynae pelvic surgery in the Mater Hospital and an Ambulatory Gynaecology and Minimal Access fellowship with special interest in pelvic pain and endometriosis in Worthing and Brighton Hospitals in the UK. She is currently completing a masters in Advanced Gynaecological Endoscopy in the University of Surrey in the UK.
Eve specialises in minimal access gynaecology, including laparoscopic management of ovarian cysts, the provision of laparoscopic hysterectomy and hysteroscopic removal of fibroids and endometrial ablation for heavy periods. She has a special interest in pelvic pain and endometriosis.

Eve established the Out-Patient Hysteroscopy service for the Rotunda in 2016 and is the clinical lead for this department. She specialises in the out-patient investigation of abnormal bleeding and the treatment of polyps and small fibroids under local anaesthetic.

As a certified colposcopist, she performs colposcopy clinics for the management of abnormal cervical smear tests.
She enjoys research and teaching and is a minimal access instructor for the higher specialist training scheme. Research areas of interest include ovarian cancer risk reduction.
She is married with three children.
