Dr Meena Ramphul is a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist in the Rotunda Hospital. Meena is passionate about improving the wellbeing of women throughout their lives and providing personalised care throughout their pregnancy journey. She went to Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge, to pursue a fellowship in complex benign gynaecology whilst practising obstetrics and teaching medicine. Meena has a keen interest in advanced laparoscopic surgery, ambulatory gynaecology and pelvic floor surgery. Meena also has established experience in labour ward management, complex births and postnatal care. She runs specialist clinics in menstrual dysfunction, endometriosis, outpatient hysteroscopy, manual vacuum aspiration (award winning clinic) as well as a multidisciplinary complex postnatal clinic in the Rotunda Hospital.

Meena was awarded a PhD in Obstetrics by Trinity College Dublin in 2014. Her PhD investigated the role of ultrasound to enhance diagnosis of the foetal head position before instrumental deliveries. Her body of research has shaped international guidelines in intrapartum care and led to multiple publications.

Meena graduated from Trinity College in 2007. She pursued higher specialist training at the Rotunda Hospital, the National Maternity Hospital, the Mater Misericordia University Hospital, University Hospital Limerick and Cork University Maternity Hospital. She worked as Assistant Master in the Rotunda Hospital and the National Maternity Hospital.

She is married to Damien with whom she has a daughter.
