Dr Nikita Deegan is a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist in the Rotunda Hospital and Childrens Health Ireland (CHI), Temple street. She obtained her medical degree from University College Dublin in 2011. She completed her specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology working across many hospitals in Ireland including the three Maternity and Gynaecology hospitals The Rotunda Hospital, The Coombe Hospital, and The National Maternity Hospital. She worked as Assistant Master at the Rotunda before completing her fellowship training in Paediatric and Adolescent Gynaecology (PAG) under the supervision of Professor Sarah Creighton and the specialist PAG team at University College London Hospital (UCLH). Nikita was awarded an honorary contract at UCLH London upon completion of her fellowship training.

Nikita has a special interest in delivering antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care to patients and families with additional needs/vulnerabilities. Nikita leads the Teenage pregnancy service at the Rotunda Hospital together with our dedicated Clinical Midwife Specialist Miss Debbie Browne.

Nikita also leads the Paediatric & Adolescent Gynaecology (PAG) service at the Rotunda together with Miss Debbie Browne and Dr Susan Carroll, our dedicated PAG Clinical psychologist. This team provides holistic, person centred, multi-professional care to persons under 18 with general gynaecological concerns and for persons of any age with more complex gynaecological conditions such as congenital anomalies of the genital tract, disorders of sex development, and premature ovarian insufficiency in our dedicated Complex Congenital Gynaecology service which she set up at the Rotunda Hospital in 2022. This service is the first and only of its kind in Ireland currently.
