Subspecialist Urogynaecologist and pelvic floor reconstructive surgery
Special interests:
- Urogynaecology: pelvic organ prolapse, urinary incontinence, overactive bladder, bladder pain syndrome, and pelvic floor dysfunction.
- Minimally invasive surgery including total laparoscopic hysterectomy, laparoscopic ovarian cystectomy, laparoscopic oophorectomy and diagnostic laparoscopy.
- Benign gynaecology including abnormal menstrual periods, fibroids, ovarian cysts, and ovarian cancer screening
- Ambulatory gynaecology including diagnostic and operative outpatient hysteroscopy, in addition to outpatient cystoscopy, and outpatient treatment for stress urinary incontinence.
Fadi has vast experience in labour ward obstetrics, complicated deliveries and gynaecological surgery. He has specific expertise in the prevention and management of pelvic floor injury during childbirth.
He is also experienced in managing low risk pregnancies and complicated pregnancies including fibroids, and ovarian cysts.
After completing his general obstetrics and gynaecology training. Fadi gained the European Board and College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and European Urogynaecologic Association, EBCOG/EUGA, certificate for successfully completing an accredited subspecialty fellowship in Urogynaecology at Cork University Maternity Hospital. Fadi has presented research work both nationally and internationally and Is involved in numerous research projects in the field of pelvic floor dysfunction and bladder pain syndrome amongst others.
He has a passion for teaching. He is a faculty member for numerous training courses for obstetrics and gynaecology trainees in addition to being an honorary senior lecturer with the Royal College of Surgeons.
Fadi is the current clinical director of Gynaecology in the Rotunda, and an active member and treasurer of the Continence Foundation of Ireland.
