Dr Maeve Eogan graduated from University College Dublin in 1996 and completed Higher Specialist Training in the three Dublin Maternity Hospitals, the Mater University Hospital and Galway University Hospital. During her training, Dr Eogan also worked as clinical lecturer for UCD, based at the National Maternity Hospital, and developed her interest and expertise in complicated vaginal delivery and postnatal care. She has published and presented her research findings internationally. Prior to working at the Rotunda, Dr Eogan worked as a Consultant at the National Maternity Hospital and Merrion Fertility Clinic.
Dr Eogan has been a Consultant in the Rotunda since 2009. She provides obstetric services as well as a clinic specifically for women who have sustained anal sphincter injury at vaginal delivery or who have other postnatal complications. Dr Eogan also takes care of women with infectious diseases or addiction issues during pregnancy and is very involved with postgraduate education at the Rotunda. Dr Eogan also works at the Sexual Assault Treatment Unit and is National Specialty Director for Postgraduate Training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at RCPI . Dr Eogan is an Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer at RCSI.
Maeve was delighted to be awarded ‘Obstetrician of the Year’ at Boots Maternity and Infant Awards in November 2015 and also to be awarded ‘Top Obstetrician’ at the Mum’s and Tots Awards in both 2016 and 2017.
She is married with two children.
