The Clinic
Many gynaecological conditions can be managed medically. If surgery is required, our consultants provide minimally invasive, vaginal and open surgical techniques on a case-by-case basis. Each patient is given individualised care according to their condition, as well as background medical, surgical and gynaecological history.
Ambulatory Hysteroscopy Clinic
Private patients can also avail of our Ambulatory Hysteroscopy Clinic. This is a specialised service located in the Rotunda Hospital grounds (Rotunda Gynaecology Unit) which focuses on investigation and management of abnormal uterine bleeding, abnormalities of the lining of the womb, certain types of fibroid and some causes of infertility.
Pelvic Ultrasound Scan
A pelvic ultrasound scan is generally used as a first-line radiological investigation in
gynaecology. Our patients have access to a consultant-led gynaecology ultrasound service.
Phlebotomy*
*A fee of €40 is charged if your Gynaecologist requests bloods. This fee is payable on the day of your blood tests.

Private Patients
Any private patient requiring surgery are cared in a dedicated Gynaecological ward. The ward has single private accommodation for comfort and privacy. Patients in the Gynaecology ward are looked after by caring nurses with years of experience in managing pre and post-operative gynaecology patients.
As part of our holistic care, our catering manager has developed special diet for post-operative patients to allow enhanced recovery and better patient experience.
Patients wishing to have private gynaecology consultation require a referral letter from their GP.
